Bufalina
I have to admit, I was hesitant on sharing this spot because it’s hands down our local go to date night spot and, without a doubt the best happy hour in town.
The place I’m talking about is Bufalina, where they focus on handcrafted Neapolitan pies made with artisanal ingredients.

Look at that oven 😍
These guys and gals have racked up some serious recognition, nominated for a James Beard award, named one of the top pizza spots in America, and rocking an award winning wine list.
But what I really love about the team there is that none of that has gone to their heads.
They’ve kept the prices affordable, and their happy hour menu? The best.

Fresca on top and can’t remember the name of the other one 😅
During happy hour (4–5:30 daily, yes, even on weekends), pizzas and wines under $100 are 50% off.
Let me tell you, we’ve had plenty of date nights there where we’ve enjoyed a bottle of wine and a couple of pizzas, and still walked out spending under $60 including tip. That’s hard to come by in Austin these days.
One of the best things about Bufalina is their seasonal menu.
You can visit multiple times a year, and depending on what’s fresh, the pizza options will have changed.
But don’t worry, they’ve got staples like the Calabrese (tomato, salami, mozzarella, garlic, basil, and serrano) and the Fresca (mozzarella, prosciutto, arugula, lemon, and Parmesan) our two go tos.
That said, I’m still dreaming about the squash flower and beet sauce pizza they’ve done in the past.

Squash Flower pizza 🤌
They’ve got two locations:
The best part? No reservations until 6 p.m., so happy hour is first-come, first-served.
(Pro tip: get there before they open)

This wine was so good we went all over town trying to find it.
And let’s talk about the wine for a second Rania, their wine director, knows her stuff.
With a rotating selection of 400+ wines to choose from, we usually just ask for a recommendation, and she’s never steered us wrong.
I especially love some of the orange wines they’ve recently they’ve been unique, refreshing, and so good with pizza.
Oh, and dessert. I can’t forget dessert. Their vanilla ice cream with sherry is 🤌.

Parking is free and isn’t too bad at either location, and for the Cesar Chavez spot, there’s street parking available and it’s conveniently located right across the street from Dear Dry Drinkery if you feel like making it a two stop night.
If you’ve been to Bufalina, I’d love to hear what you think. And if you haven’t, do yourself a favor and go. You won’t regret it!
Deals Of The Week
Nothing better than free pizza!
They also do 50% off whole pies during this time.
