Dear Dry Drinkery

With the new year upon us, many of us are thinking about dialing back on drinking or at least having a few more non alcoholic options.

So this month, we’re spotlighting some of Austin’s best spots to grab non alcoholic drinks, including those with menus that go beyond the typical one or two options.

Kicking things off is Dear Dry Drinkery, located on 2226 East Cesar Chavez in a cozy, homey house that feels like it’s giving you a warm hug the moment you walk in.

From the outside, Dear Dry Drinkery blends seamlessly into the neighborhood, fitting right in with the charm of the buildings around it.

But step inside, and you’ll quickly realize that this concept is something refreshingly different from the usual row of bars you’ll find all over town.

Opened in August 2023 by wife and husband duo Grace Vroom and Joe Patterson, Dear Dry Drinkery offers a welcoming space that feels equal parts innovative and cozy.

Starting out as a trailer before making the move to their brick and mortar location, this spot has quickly become a must-visit.

With plenty of seating and a fridge full of cold drinks, it’s the kind of place that practically invites you to settle in, crack open a book, and sip on something delicious.

Better yet, you can pick up a bottle or can to take home while you’re at it.

Some of our favorites included options from the Austin based Good Spirits, their wine bottles of sparkling tea, and a variety of NA beer options from the fridge.

Their selection goes beyond the basics, offering unique and unexpected options that are bound to catch your eye and your taste buds.

It’s the perfect place to kick back, relax, and enjoy the day without having to worry about regretting it the next morning.

Be sure to keep an eye on their Instagram for upcoming events happening throughout the month.

And if a quieter, more intimate vibe is your thing, they open at noon every day and close at 7 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday (and at 5 p.m. on Sunday).

Whether you're there for a quick stop or an extended hangout session, Dear Dry Drinkery is a refreshing addition to Austin’s scene that’s well worth checking out.
