Eldorado Cafe

After so many of you kept mentioning Eldorado Cafe, I had to check it out.

Established in 2017, I guess it’s made quite a buzz with its old-school Mexican comfort food.

Eldorado Cafe with outside seating

We went last Thursday, thinking the cold might scare people away so it wouldn’t be packed, but I was dead wrong.

Packed Restaurant

A 45-minute wait later, we finally got a table.

Looking back, I should have checked Resy.

So if you’re thinking of going, save yourself some time and book a reservation.

As soon as we sat down, they dropped off the chips and two sauces.

I honestly can’t remember what the orange one was, maybe some kind of roasted chipotle sauce?

But the one that won my heart was the green avocado sauce fresh, with a little zest, and I kept going back for more.

Next time we’ll definitely get the Eldorado Salsa Sampler.

Apparently they’ve won the annual hot sauce festival competition with some of their sauces.

If you’re craving Mexican for dinner but don’t know what to get, don’t worry the menu has everything you’d want and more.

We both settled on burritos. I got the Las Cruces Bañado Plate, and Chan got the Eldorado Burrito (with extra queso, of course).

These burritos were packed. After just a few bites, Chan had already deemed hers the best burrito in town.

12” Tortilla Stuffed with Choice of Beef, Pork or Chicken with Black Beans, Crispy Potatoes

I stole a few bites and really liked the breakfast potatoes inside.

Meanwhile, they didn’t hold back on filling mine with pulled pork which I was definitely not mad about.

12” Flour Tortilla Stuffed with Roasted Pork, Pepper & Onion Rajas, and Jack Cheese.

Final verdict?

We walked away with a sub-$50 bill (including tip), so this is definitely a spot we’ll be coming back to.

And while the wait times can be long, if you plan ahead, there’s a wine shop nearby where you can hang out while you wait.
