Loro - South Lamar

I drive by Loro on South Lamar all the time and finally decided to stop in this weekend to celebrate a friend moving to Australia.

It’s where Asian flavors meet Texas BBQ, and honestly, they do a great job blending the two.

While we went to the Houston location, you can’t go wrong with their South Lamar Austin spot, especially with the nice weather we’ve been having.

The outdoor seating there is perfect for a chill weekend meal.

What to Order

If you go, don’t skip the crispy potatoes and chicken karaage. In my opinion, they’re the best two appetizers on the menu.

I ordered the steak rice bowl but made a little upgrade move and added the Texas sweet corn to it. It made the bowl heartier and the right move if I do say so myself.

Highly recommend trying that combo if you’re hungry.

Good to Know

Parking is free, but it can be a pain when it gets busy
They’ve got a solid happy hour Monday through Friday from 2–5 PM
- $5 cocktails, beer, and boozy slushies
- The HH burger is a go to if you’re there during that window

And while it’s not always available, if you spot the ramen, order it. It’s one of those sleeper dishes that hits every time.
